Sneakers have always held a special place in my heart. The fact that they recently became a fashion sensation for more than just adolescent boys trying to impress their friends has been a godsend for me and many other fashion-conscious people. Just recently, after much anticipation, my NikeLab Air Max 1 “patch” collection sneakers were finally delivered to my doorstep. The wait had been weighing over me ever since I initially placed my order. I have to say my expectations were quite high but those fears were immediately put to rest upon arrival. I was pleased; after all they sold out in minutes, I was lucky enough to snag a pair.
The shoe comes in three colors: olive, black and sand. I chose sand specifically because I was looking for a pair of sneakers that would flawlessly transition into the spring. The design behind this trio was inspired by the military, from its sturdy canvas structure to the customizable patches. In addition to that 22 patches were provided in the box, featuring Nike’s logo and different cities in stitching. I have to say I couldn’t be happier with the quality and comfort of these shoes. They were truly a great buy and I absolutely recommend these to all my sneaker lovers out there.
Cleaned and refined lines are physical proof that a little goes a long way, especially in one’s wardrobe. The pinstripe is coming back, and not just if you’re a Yankee fan. I can’t seem to get enough of fine lines, whether it be on my tops or bottoms. The versatility of pinstripes is often underestimated. For example, one could wear pinstripes as separates, or a two piece if you’re going for a playful look. In this photo I’m wearing a straight legged, high waisted pinstripe pant from Zara and a simple white mock neck to accentuate the white stripe in the pant. If you know your body type well, as one should, stripes can be your best friend. Personally, vertical stripes elongate my legs and trust me when I say that I’ve learned over many years that I can never go wrong trying to accentuate them. A closet without pinstripes can easily be mistaken for a Target so do yourself a favor and add pinstripes to the mix wherever possible. They’re worth the investment.
This particular look was inspired by the great concrete jungle, with it’s clean lines and cool shades of blue. It’s been a hell of a long winter, and we’re all just about itching for warm weather so I thought I would add a pop of white into my look for the shoot. I paired my favorite spring, flared seventies pants from the Mango premium collection and a Top Shop ribbed navy blue turtle neck. For anyone keeping up with the most recent trends you would know that the 70’s are back in a big way this spring, probably the biggest way since, well, the 70’s.
The pants I’m wearing for this shoot (I call my Summer Finn pants), for all you 500 days of Summer fans out there. To make sure the focus was solely on my outfit, I opted out of wearing any sort of accessories, especially to indulge my minimal tendencies. Some people believe they must include a myriad of jewelry and accessories to piece together a look, when in fact going for the simple yet chic look can say so much more. Remember, less is more!
As you know the most anticipated time of the year has arrived; New York Fashion Week. This seasons hottest trends are strutting down New York Cities runways. Fall 2015 runway has got everyone going crazy over the wide-legged trousers. Almost every designer has a wide-legged pant parading down their runway show, including Carolina Herrera, Guilietta, and Karen Walker.
I can’t get enough of these wide-legged trousers, they’re super fun and refreshing. It’s time to put those uncomfortable skinny jeans away ladies and let our legs breathe. Whether you decide to layer up or not, these pants add the perfect amount of flirt and fun to tie your outfit together.
